Verify a PADI certification
Free, community-built lookup of official PADI records.
Common questions
Why does this site exist?
Because your own certification record is surprisingly hard to get to. Even after paying for a course, PADI puts digital cards behind a separate eCard purchase, and confirming a certification has often meant calling a dive shop and asking them to check. This site is a free, open alternative built by the dive community, for the dive community, to query records directly from PADI.
How do I verify a PADI certification?
Enter the diver's first name, last name, and date of birth, or search by the email on their PADI account. Results come directly from PADI's official records and list every certification on file.
Is this the official PADI website?
No. This is a free, community-built verification tool. It queries the same records PADI uses, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by PADI.
Which certifications show up?
Recreational certifications on the diver's record, from Open Water Diver through Rescue Diver and specialty courses, along with certification dates. To verify a professional, use PADI's Pro Check tool.
Why can't I find a diver?
The name and birth date must match PADI's records exactly, so double-check the spelling or try the email search instead. Divers certified by other agencies such as SSI, NAUI, or BSAC will not appear here.
Do you store my searches?
No. Lookups are passed straight to PADI's systems, and the info you enter is never saved. The site keeps only anonymous usage counts.
